Super-Size Me
During some downtime at Virginia Alpha I watched "Super-Size Me" on HBO and the movie really bothered me. While actually at each chapter I try to go to a local restaurant, at least for dinner, so that I can take advantage of being in a new town. But when I'm on the road, and even sometimes for lunch when I'm at a chapter, I mostly eat fast food. Sometimes I go to Subway, and sometimes I get a salad at Wendy's instead of the fries, but the fact remains that I've begun eating a lot more fast food now than I usually do. And on top of that, because I'm at a new school every three to four days and the days themselves are filled with meetings, I don't ever get to go to the gym and workout. I could, and probably should, get up every morning and run, since it would be great exercise and a good way to see the campus and/or the city I'm visiting, but I don't. But, after seeing that movie and the effects that fast food has on a body, I'm going to make more of an effort to not eat fast food (though this will be difficult when I'm doing these 8-12 hour drives that I have coming up) and to exercise more while stationed at a school.
